The reason for divorce can be due to so many factors but the main reasons are communication, finance, abusive relationship, infidelity and physical attraction. 50% of marriages in the U.S. end in divorce. Studies have shown that at least 66% of divorced couples are childless so couples with children are less likely to get divorced.
Statistics show that couples that marry between the ages of 20 to 24 years have the highest divorce rate. Could it be that our nation is marrying too young, feeling pressured to live the dream of a white picket fence, a dog and 2.2 children? Statistics also show that married couples that have children together are often less likely to ultimately get divorced; however, studies on the flip side show that not having children can also lead to divorce.
Idaho, Nevada, Wyoming, Arkansas and West Virginia are the top 5 states with the highest divorce rate.
