The decision to move to another city depends on many factors – cost of living, unemployment, crime rate, and others. These are the so called push and pull factors. In the case of Canadian cities, we have mostly pull factors such as educational and employment opportunities, freedom, and ethnic diversity. Extra sunny days are an important consideration when moving to a new place, especially in Canada. The most important thing, however, is whether the city is a good place to raise a family. The availability of daycare facilities, libraries, park space, and mom groups is important for parents. Finding support groups and places to connect with others is important for day-to-day parenting. And in fact, for anyone who is people-oriented.
