Low Carb Diets, Fad Diets, and Crazy Diets
Fiber-rich carbohydrates are considered good while processed and refined carbs are bad. They are stored by the body in the form of fat. Choosing between good and bad carbohydrates can make a difference, the infographic shows. But while low-carb diets are balanced dietary plans, you will find some crazy diets as well. Some people believe that tapeworms will eat excess food and use them to lose weight. The problem is that having tapeworms inside your body can cause diarrhea, different infections, and nausea. So, don’t try this at home. Better stuff yourself with baby food – some people do it to lose weight. What about being put under sedation to lose weight? You can’t eat while on the Sleeping Beauty Diet, and you can only dream of food. Another diet recommends eating cotton balls. Not only you won’t lose weight, but cotton balls may damage your stomach. And they are empty of nutritional value.
This is hard to believe, but some people smoke to lose weight. If you are on the Cigarette diet, you should light up every time you feel hungry. Or you can substitute food for alcohol, and this is what William the Conqueror did. If beer is your drink, you can try the ice cream and beer diet. The idea behind it is that the body works harder to warm up cold beverages and foods. This one may be fun for a while, but it is neither healthy nor effective.
The bottom line? Go back to low-carbing, fad diets are for eccentrics and celebrities.
