More than half of the diseases are caused by poor indoor air quality. Exposure to bacteria, dust mites, and animal dander makes many people sick. And so do cleaning manias, which are, in fact, disorders. Ablutomaniacs are obsessed with cleaning, bathing, and washing hands. Others are in perfect health but are up till 2 or 3 in the morning, washing dishes, putting toys away, and folding laundry. This is not a house-wife tendency but obsessing over a clean home.
Keeping one’s home tidy and clean is great, but many people feel stressed and restless. Three loads of washing are not part of your daily to-do list unless you have 6 children and a lazy husband. It is fine to scrape, dust, rinse, and polish unless you start all over again once you finish. And you live in a 2-room condo! This won’t improve hygiene as there is no room for improvement in a spotless and pristine home. And you’ll get dark patches and the exhausted, hunted look of a maniac.

It’s true that indoor air is more polluted. Especially if you work in an office building…
