Some 58 percent of jobseekers lie about years of experience and 32 percent about their personal status. Besides stretching the truth, people say some funny things in job interviews.
Some candidates ask how many women work in the company. Others admit to having public drunkenness arrests on their record. The fact that a candidate attends anger management classes should not come up during a job interview either.
Asking your potential employer for a cup of coffee is a no-no, especially if you mention that hangover from last night. This is worse than being unable to put a sentence together. And do not mention your previous employer if you don’t have anything good to say. Saying that you worked in a mock up of an office in Washington, DC won’t make you a favor. The same goes for being overly emotional. Some people start crying to get the job while others talk about their alcoholic mother, sister, and brother. Do this only if the employer is a share your emotions kind of person.
