Vancouver has been called a tech hot spot and the next tech hub. But while the technology sector has marked a significant growth and is in the up, Canada lags behind the U.S. The good news is that big-name giants are interested in starting a business in Vancouver. Part of the explanation is easier access to work visas. There are too many applicants for U.S. visas, and the authorities are sometimes forced to hold a lottery. Some tech giants open temporary offices in Canada to train their employees. They move to the United States once they are granted a U.S. visa. And while Vancouver has been proclaimed a tech hub, many companies only maintain small outposts.
