Canada is one of the largest producers of wind energy worldwide. Wind energy will not run out. Plus energy dollars stay in Canada and contribute to economic growth and job creation. With the danger of environmental pollution and global warming, dependence on foreign resources and technologies, and depleted resources, the use of wind power is a step in the right direction. Increased cost and consumption are other reasons. Wind is free. And newer technologies contribute to a more efficient production process. Wind power is a source of affordable energy for communities in remote locations such as deserts, mountains, and offshore locations. The fact that wind, solar, and geothermal energy are locally produced contributes to energy independence. It is not vulnerable to riots, wars, and political upheavals. Coal burning releases mercury and nitrogen oxide into the air. Wind energy is clean and green!
