As one of the largest engineering projects the UK has ever seen, the Channel Tunnel has a wide selection of different facts. To begin with, roughly 13,000 workers from both England and France worked together for five years to finish the assignment. Such was the scale of the Channel Tunnel that it has now become one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Despite this, there remain forgotten aspects.
Thousands of people take the train between England and France every day. And despite the size, it’s easy to ignore the unique man made structure that makes the journey so easy. This infographic visualizes how the tunnel was built, the size and how many family pets have travelled with Eurotunnel Le Shuttle.
